It's not like I'm hooked or anything...
May. 11th, 2001 08:55 pmIT's broken.
My lovely, useful, reliable dishwasher has just died. Or at least is making buzzing noises instead of slooshing noises. I have isolated the problem to being in the pump section (yeah, I know, engineering student) but it's Friday and the chances of anyone coming before next week...
And it's surprising how dependant you get on a machine. I coped for years (well, sort of) without, using the willing and not-so-willing help from visitors and reliable sources. (Hi Geoffrey! Hi Tony!) But now, faced with a full and grotty dishwasher and lots of odd shapes, I quail.
And sigh.
And grab the gloves.
At least if I do it, I won't be faced with one of my pet peeves. For a grot like me, it's amazing how the sight of a sink filled with cold scummy water bugs me because somebody {glarefluff-no-names-mentioned} left things soaking again while he just played a little bit more Swat...
I'll shut up now. The drying rack has just been emptied. My turn to wash the plates, and leave them drying until tomorrow.
