Warning you when your son hasn't been eating his lunches (or the fast breakfast I made for him to eat in the car on Tuesday) by finding said 2-day-old sandwiches in the son's bin and bringing them out.

This is *besides* the salmon one he'd left in his bag for two or three days?

I don't mind going to the fridge and finding the salmon's gone and there's just cheese left, but when he's not even *eating* the bloody things, I think I'm entitled to be peeved...

If he doesn't like what you're making for him, he should talk to you about it. In all fairness to him, I can't eat much more than a small bowl of cereal in the morning or my stomach doesn't feel right... but I haven't been having breakfast regularly for a while. However, as Art already said, there shouldn't be a waste of food just because he doesn't know how to say no-thank-you.

If he actually asked for these sandwiches, and isn't eating any, well, I think you know what to do in that case.

He buys himself lunch at school, which isn't too bad. It's more that I make the rolls and it's a waste of my time and nice salmon if he then doesn't eat it.

And if it's in the bin in his room the dog gets it, and possibly mice too.
