Day by day...
Sep. 29th, 2005 11:52 amWe're in L.A., safe (?) in the house of the
skwerlbuddy, being loved and looked after as we have been all this trip. Being fed, being pointed to showers and being given free access to an espresso maker. But for those of you who haven't been with us for most of this trip, I think it's time I did a day-by-day description of our trip of evil.
Waaaay back in March, just as
jazzmasterson and
harliquinn were making planning noises, I started corresponding with
mdsteele47 about the slight possibility that I might get a reasonable bonus from work which would just nicely cover the cost of two people sneaking over to Connecticutt. Once I'd had the review and was told I would be getting the bonus, I started the plot with a small post, and gathered the conspirators together. I've now unlocked all the entries (with the exception of the one with people's contact numbers on) and you can find them here, with the tag of "gc" (for Gatecrash Conspiracy).
Friday 16th
Flight out of Sydney at 9 at night, and lots of sleep. Ready with names, numbers, SMS details, and multiple printouts of the actual plans. Remind me not to eat airport food, especially when that includes sushi in Honolulu. Mind you, Hawaiian Air have nice flights, decent leg space, nice food and decent service. And once we'd cleared US Customs in Hawaii, (I got fingerprinted!), our luggage was sent on all the way to Manchester without a hitch.
And due to the International Date Line, we arrived in LA at 11pm on Friday, and had an hour and a half before the red-eye to Cleveland.
More later.

Date: 2005-09-29 08:31 pm (UTC)Qantas seems to be steep, though, but that's probably because I'm on the wrong coast. Whatever I do would probably stop in LA or Vancouver, or maybe just fly to New Zealand and tell me to swim. :P
