Insanity rules
Jan. 1st, 2006 12:26 pmIt's 41.6C outside. That's 106.9F. I just mowed the back lawn. Yes I wore susnscreen, and long trousers, and a hat, and I tipped a bucket of water over myself before I started. But I still think I must be insane.
Why today? The grass was knee-length and I go to work at 2 so I wanted to do it before I left. And it's only a little back yard - about 10m by 5m. Oh - and I forgot to check the weather before I did it - if I'd realised tomorrow is going to be 25C (77F) instead, I wouldn't have. It could have waited a day. But I tend to be impulsive, and also wanted to check that the mower was working ok.
But I've just stood under a cold shower for 5 minutes, and am now damp and lounging in very little but a towel in front of the fan. And my tomato plants are still attached to their stems, and the back yard's grass is now short.
