They've just come from a Furry Conference.
They're in casualty because the kangaroo was expecting the possum to 'scritchle' (groom and greet) him, and the possum slipped a paw into the kangaroo's pouch.
And the kangaroo isn't into the warped stuff.
Like plushies and furverts.
Unlike the possum, who was found at the end of the episode doing unspeakable things to (with?) a hand puppet.
