I don't do subtle.
May. 14th, 2002 07:23 pmI have to be told something straight, or hit over the head with it.
I've been getting the wakies lately. This isn't unusual, except that this is extreme. I won't name times - Lederhosen would get angry with me. But I've been finding myself unwilling to go to sleep.
Today, I spotted a couple I knew walking in the shopping centre at Penrith. He was my boss years ago in TAFE, and he refused to give me a full higher duties allowance and complained about my work even though I was working 20 hours a week unpaid overtime and the workload (teacher recruitment) was horrific. When he'd been absent the section leader had had me doing the higher job at full rate, and was completely happy with my work.
I'd started having immense trouble sleeping at night, which of course led to sleeping in and being tardy for work. It wasn't until a friend pointed out this guy was picking on me that I realised the sleep problem was being caused by stress.
Seeing this guy today made me realise that stress again is causing problems. We're doing most of the wedding organising at the moment, and with Uni as well, last week's bundle of sick people was just a bit too much.
At least I know what it is, now. Once I know, I can do things to stop it.
My beloved is having dreams of spiders, which he recognises as being brought on by stress.
It's time to think about Vegas again.
