I'm not a total Facebook nutter,

It does, however, have its uses.

In the last little while, I've found people I haven't seen for 25, 30 and 35 years.

They are respectively:

The little Aboriginal girl next door when I used to live in Orange, who I always worried about afterwards and hoped things were going OK for her. (I can only assume that if she's got a Facebook account, it can't be all bad. She's got computer literacy, tech skills, funds, she looks healthy, she has a lovely family, etc)

A major crush of mine during high school, who caused me to have some very serious thinking sessions about who I was and where I belonged. (I ended up resolving that I am what I am, and am not changing for anyone)1

And my first kiss. He was French, at a holiday camp I was at too. He was working his way around the girls in the dorm.2

And now at last my stomach has settled so I ought to go to sleep.

1. All-girl's high school. I wondered for a while if this meant I was supposed to be male, but then decided that no, I'm female, I like being female, I intend to stay female. But this did make me realise there would be people who didn't fit into the gender they were born with.

2. I don't care - he was *my* first proper kiss.
