How much of a geek?
Jan. 28th, 2014 01:46 amEnough that I have calculated
a) how long I can make my full-circle skirt out of fabric 140cm wide and 260cm long. (It's going to sit mid-low-calf, at 65cm from my waistline)
b) Because, of course, you have to cut a smaller circle out of the middle for your waist, there's a point that's your natural "centre" point where, if you *didn't* cut the waistline out, the centre of the circle would fit. Mine is 15 cm above my waistline.
c) I've now worked out the shaping for the lining (which *isn't* a full circle), and how to put the pockets in. (Yes, of course there's pockets. Couldn't cope without them)
d) And the very sad thing is that I worked out the basics using maths, and then honed the design by drawing it up in Microsoft Word's ready-made shapes program.
