Yup, been quiet again.

Stupid sleep cycles are stupid, and according to the sleep doctor, I don't have narcolepsy, so no amphetamines for me! No, apparently I just have chronic jet lag, caused mainly by too many night shifts, and I have to persuade my body to move into a good cycle by making sure I get up at a good, set hour every morning, and make sure I don't nap during the day (which I already know throws me out) and get to bed at a reasonable hour every night.
Which has led to a rather weird situation. He suggested 8am. I though "If it's 7am then I can have breakfast with
lederhosen ", so I even considered 6am to have an hour's writing time beforehand.
Except that because I was so tired following the sleep study, I'm fading by 9pm, usually in bed before 10 - and then wide awake at about 4:30am. Which then cycles around to the same thing again.
Dammit.
So I still have shocking exhaustion all the time, and now no way to reboot. Dammit. We'll see how this goes.
Finances being what they are,
lederhosen is madly doing textbook editing, leaving him with little time for anything else. So I signed up to be a Census person, figuring "It's part time, and involves some exercise. It has to be good for me."
Well.
The Australian Census - I can't say anything specific as I am currently an employee of the Australian Bureau of Statistics, but I can say that there have been major stuff ups. And not all of them are the Bureau's fault, but of course the recriminations and accusations and everything flying around at the moment ... My constant mantra at the moment is "I'm not being paid enough to respond to them all."
*sigh*
In other news, though, a job recently came up at the Melbourne Museum for a presenter. I've put in what I think is a fairly good application, and am hoping it's enough to swing me an interview where I can demonstrate how stunning I'd be in a part-time nerdy teaching position located near my place. (I know I'd be brilliant, but I have to persuade them of that). If you've got fingers to cross, spare me a digit or two, would you?
OK, time to go face the kitchen. It's a face-off, I swear - but if it blinks first, I win!
