It's always a gamble watching a movie for the first time. Cover blurbs are designed to make the story look good; movie reviews can be baised against the style or the setting; the entire movie could have been misjudged by those watching it. I remember being very pleasantly surprised with the black comedy Three Kings, which had been mistakenly described as an action flick. Again, I had thought Last Action Hero was just another Arnie vehicle, and it turned out to be quite a good satire. Ok, I admit Dungeons and Dragons was as bad as we expected, and even Kate and Leopold was as pathetic as it threatened.

So when one gets five movies for free with one's new DVD player, one views the freebies with a large amount of scepticism and dubiousness.

I would highly recommend Heartbreakers to anyone wanting any of the following:

a) Sigourney Weaver doing comedy (she's rather good)
b) Gene Hackman being a character nobody could like
c) A reasonably intelligent thought-out story

Oh. Yes. And if you would like to see Sigourney Weaver in a skin-hugging see-through lace corset-style bodystocking, you might want to catch this one too.
