Had a lovely night tonight. Actually the whole day wasn't too bad.

I've been teching on my parents' computer, one with 4mb free space on C drive out of 3 gb. Yes, you read that right. My brothers would come over, max out and more the dial-up connection, and then make backups of their mail files 3 times on the C drive. So with a little ruthless culling and the help of a CD burner ($50 donated to the family to fight friction was well spent) and about 7 hours of tech support, they're all set for the Cable Internet Install on Monday.

Then raced down to Mascot to look at a house, and the owner had to go out in a hurry, so that was wasted. Home instead to

lederhosen, some cleaning and then off to Radical Leather to use a 25% off coupon we got at the Leather Pride Fair this year. They make the most beautiful hand-crafted black leather roses (and I wish they had a picture of them on their site), and my beloved

lederhosen bought me one then.

Wander up to Oxford Street, sushi for (very) late lunch then to House of Fetish to look pathetic, while asking in a very small and timid voice if my purple Vollers V50U corset had come in yet. No. Alas. [*sulk*]

Home then to grab a cup of coffee and to ~~goth~~ dress up ready for the birthday cocktails of the lovely

sapia, who turns 21 in a couple of days - yay! Found parking without too much trouble, and was very very glad I had my big black winter coat with me. Bought it when they were fashionable in 1997, and my goodness it's had some wear. Borrow my husband's "Alice Cooper" top hat, add it to my black skirt, black shirt over white corset, Emily bag, nope, I'm not a Goth...

Gave the b'day girl a dubious card with cheesy 70s pic, and then headed off for the last part of the day which was to scout out a possible cocktail lounge site (and combine it with our 2nd anniversary dinner). The Signature Cafe had lovely cocotails, the food was delicious, the service at the end a bit slow but in summer it will make a suitably elegant establishment to dress up and be sophisticated on the balcony thereof.

Headed home, with Spaniel pleased to see us. And

lederhosen found the alcohol too much and has now crashed out, whereas I am now bouncing on too much sugar and caffeine. There's a stunning storm on its way here (the pic on Bureau of Meterology looks like this), and I really ought to get off the machine. But too many cocktails and sugar makes Gillian a happy bunny.
