While I have been so so lucky (especially in my younger and foolish days) not to be a subject of sexual violence, there are many who aren't.

And there's a strength coming through on all the comments and replies to the post.

This post touched me, as I was once a victim (as you will see in my latest journal entry). Thank you for bringing it to my attention. It makes me want to organize, to publicly stand up. To stage an event in which i can proclaim No pity no shame no silence.

Hmm.

While on the whole the strength, support and solidarity that's coming out of this is amazing, there are bits that concern me.  There'll probably be a ramble on it at some point, as I wander along blearily in the wake of the bandwagon (300+ posts to catch up with from the past week...).  I also can't help wondering, that it appears the deluge has slowed to a trickle, what happens now?  A cross-section of a virtual community has stood up to be counted.  Once, across a disparate forum.

And?

I'm glad to hear that you can be counted amongst those (still, I believe, a minority amongst my circle of friends) who've so far escaped unscathed, though... *hug*
