because a fellow Tech Supporter from a rival company sent me a little link about my workplace and their unpaid bill to a porn company.

To access web smut - originating in Vanuatu - punters paid a cool $4 per minute in calls to Telecom Vanuatu. Optus got a cut of this and in turn paid a commission to Gilsan based on the minutes the latter's customers were on the line to Vanuatu.

And all I could think of was "so I'll get into work this afternoon and be told to always get a valid credit card number and to charge the customer's account $4.95 a minute?"

we got so many of them back when i used to work in dialup.
they go to a porn site, get a popup offering them free porn, just click this button and install the program, it rests their Dial Up Networking to dial their number which is usually overseas for all internet connections. The biggest bill I saw was for over $36,000
Ask James, Nodas, Paul, Miro or any of the other ex-dial-up reps about some of those bills.
