1. Total number of books I own:
85 feet of bookshelf filled and we still have 28 boxes of books to unpack. Does that answer your question?
2. The last book I bought:
Cold Mountain by Charles Frazier, because I loved the movie.
3. The last book I read: Blood Bond by Roberta Gellis. They're mind candy, and yet they're full of info on 12-14th Century English history and politics.
Oh - and the dodgy book we bought down the South Coast.
4. Five books that mean a lot to me:
I am David by Anne Holm. I'm not sure if I should see the movie, though.
A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle
Time for the Stars by Robert Heinlein. Can't stand the man's full-length Adult books, but love his children's ones.
The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis. Between that and working in the Public (Civil) Service, I was in utter pain from laughter when I then watched "Yes Minister"
Commonsense Cookbook. I learned how to make plain cakes form that, starting with creaming butter and sugar together. From that it goes all the way to roast beef, profiteroles and ginger beer. Mine is the 1926 version. Take 3d worth of beef bones...

Anyone who wants to.
