1) lemon juice and milk don't mix.

2) those indelible pens really don't come out - which is just as well because Neil Gaiman signed my "Stardust" t-shirt, but as I had been wearing it, it needed a gentle wash - and my fingers were *so* crossed that the signature would stay in. (All is well)

3) Putting the volume up on "Science Fiction" from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and singing along at top volume, does wonders for a case of the tiredness-enhanced grumps. Ditto "Particle Man".

4) No amount of caffeine makes up for not enough sleep.

Nor orange juice and milk, right, [livejournal.com profile] tenner? (And anyone else who was at the party when the Random Drink Wheel made that so?)

We talk of a party at [livejournal.com profile] topofthehill's place several (wow, eight) years ago at which we had one of those big carnival wheels, about two feet in diameter, with spokes and a nice pretty pointer. We knew we had to tie it into the party, so it had a few "overlays" that could be used to play various "games", ostensibly a punishment if you did something wrong (spilling a drink, damaging something, insulting the host, etc.) One of those games required the participant to drink a small sample of various beverages mixed together. It could be good (rum and coke) or nasty.

The worst was gin, milk, and Sprite.

Just a hint here. Never, no matter how desperate you are, no matter how drunk you are, never mix rum and Fanta.

Just trust me on that one.

Don't spill alchohol on the Sharpie. Or get hairspray on it. That will make it come out.

Not a hope. The shirt doesn't get worn again, and is now drying preparatory to being put on display next to the Ian McKellen rainbow flag.

Actually dill pickle brine and milk make a passable soft cheese.

Also put here - various chemical flavoured cordials of the cottees varieties + milk do not mix, as has been tried here. But straight-frozen, undiluted cheapo cordial makes pretty passable icy-pole, just in case you ever need one at short notice...
