Amusing interlude at LA -
lederhosen and I headed through the terminal 6 entry, and up to security. There, they checked his boarding pass, asked if we were together, then called over 2 female-assist search people -
after having asked if the name on the pass was him. I think my husband needs to grow a beard...
The wait in LA was only half an hour, but the plane to Cleveland was packed and we got stuck with the two middle seats of three-person rows, myself between a huge guy with armrest-hogging habits, and a lady with the same. Oh well - more sleep. The body decided I was changing shifts and went along with this quite well.
Cleveland was far too bright. We had 45 mins from landing to next (and last) hop and almost before we knew it, we were at Manchester, New Hampshire and looking for squirrels.
The very disgustingly cute pair of
panacea1 and Moxie were waiting for us, carrying the smug blighter known as
notasquirrel (also called Buzzy), and before too long we were tucked in the Stealth Lemon and heading up the highway towards Augusta, Maine. I started to get the hand of US currency, driving on the wrong side of the road, autumn leaves and weird foliage and animals. Then the guided tour of Augusta, Maine, a sweet little town nestling in the hills and bracing itself for the expected 6 foot high snow in the winter coming. Moxie's house is snug (no other name to call it), with multi-level floors, a shoggoth pool out the back, tattered curious-looking wind-chimes and an amazing collection of squirrel-items, posters, models and other Aldin-related items. In addition,
panacea1's rabbits snuggle up nicely to his squirrels as the pair themselves do to each other - Moxie showed that he chitters quite satisfactorily when she scritchels the back of his head.
Damn Cat deigned to accept out presence, and Buzzy introduced his followers (photos to follow).
I explained
letterboxing to the pair (something I was introduced to by
bunny_hugger), and we ate of hamburger and drank of the beverage that is
Moxie. And then the body said "sleeeeeeeep", so we fell over and went zzzzzzzzzzz.

Date: 2005-10-02 12:14 am (UTC)Um, you got December mixed up with the whole winter. That's usually just the December snowfall total. In a normal winter we'll see 1 to 3 feet (30 to 90cm) of snow per storm with an average of 1 storm per 5 or so days. usually starting in December and going through March, but I've seen it snow as early as October 1st and as late as May 15th around here. Evil author's father has seen it snow in July up here. Two years ago, between Nov. 30th and Dec. 7th, we had 6 feet of snow fall from the first two storms of the year (total of the two storms' snow falls combined was over 6 feet).
Um, (scuffpaw) those are my evil author's bunnies. Evil author's family are all of the Evil (tm). All gifts. (honestflick) Oh and one is from Wade and another is from Wade's evil twin (who's currently in Afganistan) The rocks on the other paw are mostly Able/Panacea1's.
(chitter) Of course I chitter. I *am* a squirrel, just like Buzzy. (noddle)
