I will perform this because I like you.

Also in the hopes that somehow, performing it will make it magically more likely that I'll get to visit you before Bird Flu mutates and spreads around the world, killing many and leaving the survivors to deal with a complete collapse in public services, power outages, martial law, loss of loved ones, and the nagging feeling that the second wave of infections will not miss you like the first.

True, I've been watching this.

7. If you do, what is particularly good/bad about it: It's all very consistent, I usually know to expect all sorts of witty postings. Unlike that Dylan's LJ, which is completely random, and smells of figs.
8. An interesting fact about you: I can wink each eye just by dropping the lid down. Most people don't think about it, but they usually wink by scrunching their cheek upward to really force one eye shut; I can still do that but I don't really have to. Chances are, everyone can do this and I'm just weird for bringing it up.
9. Are you in love/have a crush at the moment: No. Then you'd have long posts where I wax poetic about a woman I probably don't even know. Those are giddy and manic times, but you probably like me better when I'm not obsessed with anybody.
10. Favourite place to be: Toronto. Just walking around the city on a nice day. Even nicer with company.
11. Favourite lyric: Oh, you've got to be kidding me. Well, no, I'd be 30 before I figured it out--and then I'd have to figure out whether I liked any additional lyrics I'd heard in that time any better! Instead I'm going to give you lyrics which will mean more later than they do now

12. Best time of the year: I dunno, New Year's Eve is competing with July. You'll get a good chance to hedge the latter's bet, I think, at risk of being obsessive.

1. A film: Jan zonder Vrees. Literally translated, "Fearless John". Dubbed version in English I watched as a child was titled "John the Fearless". I'm going to force it upon you some day, and you can only make things better by assisting me, by finding a subbed version I can play in my DVD zone. Not the most polished animation, but refreshingly cartoony if you've had enough of Disney.
2. A book: The Fifth Estate, Peter C. Newman. Might make journalism make more sense. Or, if you're really not into that, a bit of light uplifting reading: The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood--there's my requisite Canadian Content.
3. A band, a song and an album: And they don't have to be complementary, either, so I can leave you guessing with a random sampling! Nightwish. Subdivisions. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.
