Head hurty - a wretched boring head cold has been stalking me for a little while, and hit like a ton of bricks yesterday. I have 4 days off after a graveyard shift, but spending two of those too sick to do much more than suck on orange juice and sleep is no fun. Will be going back to bed in a moment.

Poor puppy went to the vets to have a polyp cut from one ear. The vet says he's a Senior - we chuckled for a great long time over that one. We asked if the vet fee would be reduced if they locate the dog's brain (he is a spaniel, after all). The vet says no, he'll charge a finder's fee.

Had friends to dinner on Saturday night, and cheesy movies, spoilt only by my body trying to fall asleep in the middle of the Batman movie. The guffaws of sarin_girl, james_aus and his lady kept me awake, though. I was sorry waitingman couldn't make it, but I can understand his need for some space.

Felt a little guilty about not having watered the garden yesterday (the legal day for watering), but the rain seems to have done it for me, so I'm glad I slept instead.

And now, after raving, I shall forsake this machine and toddle off bedwise again.

Erg. My sympathies - I suspect I know exactly how you feel. Hope we're both feeling better soon.

Sorry I didn't respond to your SMS, by the way; I was dead to the world most of yesterday, and didn't check my phone until this morning. I'll e-mail you or something, when I can think without it hurting so much.

Incidentally, how old is that doglet? I thought he was only about 7 or so...

Yup - 7. Or close enough to it. He's currently lying under the desk here, head encased in a cone of silence non-scratchness, obviously fine but still a little sore and sorry.

And no, they didn't find a brain.
