up to a point. Although having to buy a size {censored} pair of shorts last year was a fair indication that perhaps the chocolate consumption ought to go down.
So this year, it's not a diet time. I couldn't so that to myself. And besides, I overdosed on aspartamine the last time I tried (11 years ago just after I gave up smoking and found I couldn't get into a bridesmaid dress for the only time I've ever been a bridesmaid).
It's just - when hungry, fruit salad sometimes instead of chocolate. Sushi instead of wedges. Ham and cheese salad sandwich occasionally instead of satay. And fried Sunday eggs-and-bacon-and-pancakes-and-mushrooms- and-all-the-trimmings once a month instead of every week.
And walk to Uni instead of bussing. And try to get the time to walk to the station in the morning. And walk home in the evening - that one's the hardest. It's almost all up hill and usually getting late. But I will, from time to time.
And starting on the bike. I just did a small ride tonight, down to the end of the cul-de-sac and back, no more than 5 minutes.
Not dieting. Not trying to be anything but what my body is supposed to be with all its beautiful curves and bits. But a little fitter and a little less wobbly. Only a bit.
And yesterday at the clinic, I stood on a pair of scales whose reading I trust (as versus my parents' one which has been adjusted to pieces) and the result was under {deleted} kgs for the first time in a year.
How odd. Every time I try and put down my weight, it refuses to register. OK - so let me try in pounds. According to my calculations, that makes me now under {removed from journal} pounds for the first... hey!
All right. Let's go esoteric.
My Body Mass Index is now under 30 for the first time in a very very long time. OK?
YIPPEE!!!!

Date: 2002-03-27 07:48 pm (UTC)I dont' beleive in diets, just in moderation, sometimes rethinking that yummy scrumptious bit of junk food for something maybe a bit healthier, walking a bit more and if i am to indluge, then just don't over do it. Its the best way and it doesn't feel like a trauma to do
Congrats again :)
