Writing up my piece for the sshg_exchange, which got scrawled into a series of exercise books with markers and spare paragraphs and later ideas and ...

... and I have a page of completely hot smut labelled as "this needs to be added in at point XYZ", and for the life of me I can't find point XYZ anywhere!!!!!

*sigh* Oh well. I'll continue the bit with the enchanted gender-changing haggis instead. That should get them guessing.

I can't decide!!!!

Every year, I try to take my family to some live theatre. Something brilliant, sparkling, sometimes deep, sometimes incomprehensible.

I'd just about set my heart on seeing Kevin Spacey in "Richard III". A difficult second choice was seeing Foo Fighters with Tenacious D as a support act. (Ohhh - would we get to see Dave Grohl and Jack Black in drag?)

Then today I get an email. QI is coming to Melbourne.

Fanfiction Meme - Day 5

5 –If you have ever had a character try to push their way into a fic, whether your "muse" or not, what did you do about it?

Sometimes. Not often. Sometimes the perfect line will come up and none of the set of characters I'm playing with then is the right person to say it, so there will be a walk-past line delivery. But it's rare.

No, the worst I had was my Nano novel (which I must get on with) where a minor side-plot character became so real that he suddenly became the focus of the whole thing, and the novel shifted from a "lets make this a mystery and it all gets revealed at the end" to "The audience will know and just be sweating on when the characters will work it all out." Bloody Robert. Such an attention whore :-)
