Trying to do the right things.
Mar. 16th, 2007 12:20 amYesterday, I dragged my dearly beloved loudly-protesting
lederhosen to see Miss Potter, a truly charming, sweet, sad and lovely film. And yes, it was full of rabbits. Had lunch with my mum, and then dragged my poor husband to my favourite plant shop because the time had come.
You see, the patch of garden between the front fence and the footpath had become overgrown, filled with weeds and generally untidy. The only thing that looked half decent were a bunch of South African daisies that seemed to enjoy the dry weather. So I dug hard and deep ( and managed to pucture my water-soaker hose in the process, but it looks as if it was half-perished anyway), and pulled out all the grass and weeds, and put in a few extra native daisies, and scattered around the sugar-cane mulch.
And then made dinner, then at 8pm, collapsed in the middle of a B-Grade movie.
And now my back is sore and my body dying, and it looks like I did all that just on the wave-front of a nasty dose of the local flu. But hey, at least I finally made good use of my day off.

Date: 2007-03-15 02:01 pm (UTC)Oh, Miss Potter is still out! I believe I visited some of the places where it was filmed back in February, so I'd doubly like to see it. Is it terribly sad? I didn't think it would be!

Date: 2007-03-19 01:01 am (UTC)Hurrah! I have no hopes of catching it, though, I've been so busy and stuck at home :( And I have no idea where Warrawong is.

Date: 2007-03-17 01:39 pm (UTC)Was disappointed to hear that Miss Potter was light on boiled bunnies, I'll confess. Her avid studies set her apart from most of the women of her day, and it would have been nice to have some of that make it into the film. Still, it would probably horrify many...
