lederhosen. At the front gate the supporters of the various candidates were trying to shove literature at us to get us to change our minds, and one asked a man heading in if he would like a pamphlet.
"No thanks," said the man, "I've already voted today."
"So vote again!" joked the supporter.
"Vote early and often!" I quipped, then cracked up. For the supporter was wearing a shirt in the name of his candidate - "Daley".*
* In no way am I insinuating that the candidate for Labor for Maroubra is at all related to the Mayor of Chicago or his family, or that either of them are engaged in shonkey business. But hey, if the urban legend sounds good...
