Yes, it's been forever. But.

From the top - List of 60 things you should do before you die, although half of them sound like they would be the last thing you'd do. However, thanks to my home-maker skills and a jar of duck-fat in the fridge, I'm going to try number 35 for myself.

Am currently still trying to shake the hanging-on flu that I picked up around the time of the Camp That Never Was, and taking the doctor's advice of Cold and Flu Tablets and plenty of liquids. Alas, still working, although I begged off work for Thursday as the headaches were getting impossible. Yes, I should take better care of myself.

The first batch of tablets that I hoped would keep me awake and functioning weren't doing the job because, instead of pseudoephedrine, they've got some sort of pseudo-pseudo-ephedrine in them. It makes me buzzy (no, not [livejournal.com profile] notasquirrel), but doesn't keep me awake. This leaves a grumpy and tired Gillian with weird sleeep patterns.

Still waiting to hear if my very beloved [livejournal.com profile] lederhosen pulls the job in Melbourne that he's hoping for. If he goes down there, I'll take this year's bonus in shares, as we'll be burning the cables between here and Melbourne.

And must go have a shower and start getting ready for Wafflers tonight, and then Character Killing tomorrow night.

I'm not so sure about Shady Glen's burgers being among the five most decadent in the US, but they are nummy :)

It's all about frying or grilling dairy products. Fried Cheese (Shady Glen- this is, assuming, you can find a Shady Glen still operational), Fried ice cream, fried Mars Bars, cream puffs, deep-fired twinkies ...

Oh my gods! You are the first person (apart from me) that I have seen complain about this. I get bad sinus flus about six times a year and without the proper tablets I get about five days of utter agony and sickliness. I brought some tablets that actually work back from Europe because none of the ones here work anymore.

*whinge*

Hope you get better, your flu sounds pretty evil.

I hope you feel better. I don't like that substitute pseudoephedrine stuff either. I once box a box of what I thought was pseudoephedrine but turned out to be that new stuff. Instead of looking closely at the box and reading the dosage like I should have, I took what was the normal dosage for the orginal stuff. My heart was racing so bad and I was shaking so hard that I thought I was going to pass out.

I hope you're getting plenty of rest. Take care of yourself. *hugs*

I've still yet to figure out which allergy tablet actually appears to work. I think the stuff I got on your side of the Larger Pond worked well, it's just that I'd overdosed.

I am waiting, impatiently, for the day when my doctor can write a prescription that reads:

Bed rest, lots of fluids, no work, and stay away from small children.

and have any job honor that without penalty.

Feel better, Red. And my fingers are crossed for Melbourne.

I want that script - only if it is modified to "stay away from college students". The critters are just as infectious as the ankle-biters.

I'm still trying to figure out some way to decontaminate assignments and exams that get turned in.

We need a Paper Autclave, I think. Pop your turned in papers there, wait an hour and withdraw you papers when you leave. Instant exam sanitizing!
