A collegue of mine, Nigel, had an interesting call yesterday:

I actually got a call from a guy reporting an O#### cable down in the area in the night.

The guy said "umm yeah some guy has run into a heap of stuff with a tanker and damaged some T**** mobile satelite dishes and knocked down some telegraph poles with an O#### cable attached to it"....................

I thought he said "tanker" (like a truck or whatever) but what he really meant was "TANK" .................

The phrase the strikes me the most is, "privately-owned APC".

Privately-owned?! Damn. I know we in the US think you Ozians are one step away from living in the world of "The Road Warrior", but this doesn't help that image.

Can we have a little less "Mad Max" and a bit more "'Crocodile' Dundee"?

On second thought, cancel that request.

About as funny as an elephant romp (http://www.cbc.ca/canada/ottawa/story/2007/07/12/elephant-stroll.html?ref=rss) in small-town Ontario.

It isn't any surprise, considering he lives in a suburb of Sydney's biggest hole.

Ooooh, it was privately owned. No one had said how exactly he got a hold of it.
