World of Warcraft leads to Terrorism

Kevin Zuccato, head of the Australian High Tech Crime Centre in Canberra, says terrorists can gain training in games such as World of Warcraft in a simulated environment, using weapons that are identical to real-world armaments.

Yeah, sure. The next time a major government building gets bombed by an undead shaman wielding a purple mace, I'll know who to blame.

Well not actually, wtf is Mr Zuccato on about? Clearly he hasn't touched the game or read anything about it. Ok, he does say "games such as", but why use WoW as the example in that case? Surely Battlefield 2 or something would be much more applicable.

Which is why the US military produce and distribute for free an online FPS called America's Army, so they can train up their own terrorists right.

Check it out - the weapons in that thing are exactly the same as the armaments used by the US Army. But, you know, the HTCC can't possibly criticise the US on those (stuuuupid) grounds, because, because... it's different!

That's another amusing point, Mr. Zuccato must hold a fairly dim view of the general public in order to compare them (the victims of terror) to monsters (the victims of WoWers ;)
