Well, that was a total WOMBAT (*)
Jun. 5th, 2002 12:05 amWhat a waste of $2.20.
After reading of the small cameo by a certain Mr Reznor in Light of Day, I decided to add it to the pile (5 vids for $11.00 for a week) and check out Trent-Baby.
Ahem.
Plays keyboards for a prog-rock new-wave band towards the end of the movie. 15 seconds of him setting up the keyboards, wearing a mullet that would not have looked out of place in "Flock of Seagulls". Group name is "The Problems" - as in "They used to be sins but now they're just problems". And they play a disgustingly-boppy version of "True Love Ways".
Then a 30 second silhouette of the man packing up as other characters talk.
What one will do to bring in the money. The film is listed as having been made in 1987 although it seems to be set (and was probably filmed) about 3 years earlier. There's some half-decent rock (Ian Hunter doing "Cleveland Rocks") and I think that Michael J. Fox does play the guitar, and play it well.
Storyline - sux.
Alas - not one I can get a refund on. Oh well.
(*) WOMBAT = Waste of Money, Brains and Talent.
