reynardo | Another night of domestication.

I've snuck in here while the kitchen fills with the smell of rising dough and cooking cake. Yup, it's Superbowl time again.

And why superbowl?

This is an eating bowl, the sort one might serve dessert or pasta in. It is approximately 20cm in width and 5 cm deep.

This is a mixing bowl. I can quite easily mix up a normal chocolate cake in this, or beat enough eggs for scramble, or even fill it with 5 cups of flour as I did tonight. About 30cm wide and 15 cm deep.

And this is the SUPERBOWL. It can hold enough pasta and sauce to feed 9 people. It holds here about 5kg of cake mix (still in the process of mixing the last of the flour in). It measures 60cm across and 40cm deep. I do love this bowl.

And the end result?

Clockwise from bottom left: small (1.25kg) round cake for household, large (2.5) cake for wedding, small (1.25 kg) cake for export, the beaters and the empty mixing bowl. Not shown - one very tired cook, layers of newspaper to go around tins.

And in another 5 hours, the large one will be cooked through.
