But not to their eternal rest in a Disneyland Ride.

Just this past Friday a Cast Member watching the security cameras noticed a woman in the back of a boat throwing a powdery substance into the lavishly decorated sets in the cavern scenes near the beginning of the ride. Even though Pirates is a 15 minute long ride, by the time the lady spreading the substance returned to the loading area Security had yet to arrive.

The college age Cast Members operating the attraction knew that legally they were not supposed to detain anyone, and when they confronted her about what she was doing in the cameras she told them she was only throwing baby powder around. The woman quickly disappeared out the exit, never to be seen again, but she'd actually left more than baby powder all over the Pirates of the Caribbean.

Ick.

Mind you, the comments about leaving your dearly departed in the It's A Small World ride to listen to that special song for all eternity amused me. Every time I see that "I'm going to the special hell" quote from Firefly, I'm gonna be thinking of this...

Really, there's no other phrase for that kind of person other than "fucked in the head". What a bizarre memorial - even if you did think of a Disneyland ride as eliciting beautiful memories of a loved one (and leaving aside the ickiness that sane people would think of), why the hell would you put the ashes somewhere where you need to pay umpteen squillion bucks to get in and "visit"? As it is, the ashes are beautifully memorialised in a HEPA vacuum. I'm sure there's a moral to that.
