The marzipan pigs collapsed when I tried to paint them. There's now a weirdly-coloured bundle of marzipan-and-fondant in a spare container that I might donate to a worthy cause.

On the other hand, fondant from scratch is scarily easy. You just take liquid sugar, powdered sugar, sugar alcohol and hydrolysed collagen. You end up with lovely very white smooth icing that's so easy to work with.

And a sugar headache. And sticky everywhere. Excuse me while I go shower.

Man, I tried to make fondant from scratch using just sugar and water. Not fun :(
It did work, but damn was it a pain.

Wow. I know the recipie and have made toffee that way, but fondant includes having a marble slab and a palette knife and a lot of paitence. *Bows to the Master*

Would be easier with the proper tools. I don't have a marble slab and a palette knife. It was horrific! Heh :(
