Things that make me go

1) Ohhhhhh yeahhhhhh - Steampunk fashion. That's it - I have to make a certain coat now.

2) wtf? A CD set at the local store. They had several "Songs of the 70s - Original Artists", "Country Music - Original Artists". I know why that particular phrase was used - I can remember a whole heap of records years ago that were session musicians covering popular music, and you wouldn't realise sometimes unless you picked the slight differences. But I stopped and gawped at "Songs of the Opera - Original Artists". I could cope with Verdi being recorded. I know it's possible that Mahler's voice made it onto a phonograph cylinder. But Mozart? I might point out here that the airas and operas were listed with the composers, but not the singers.

3) Oh Dear. A Lego Geodesic Dome

I'd much prefer an album of decent session artist covers than some of the "original artist" albums I've listened to, where they've re-recorded the song about 20 years after the original artists should have stopped singing (and in some cases, where half the original band isn't around anymore and have been replaced by session artists anyway).
