I detest moving

reynardoI hate it with a vengance. All my muscles hurt, and after going through boxes in the garage, I was almost tempted to burn my clothes. (well, we'd had a few rats in, and I swept a pile of rat droppings, fluff, chewed baby clothes, shredded ceiling insulation, and dessicated poisoned rat out from between the boxes, and the dust got onto everything). You can believe that I stripped completely that night, and disinfectant and a complete scrubbing of myself followed.
The container arrives at the Canberra house on Friday. Note to self - buy tarp for single bed stuff going in new garage. Also ensure that food, snacks and other comtestibles are not left in this garage as they were in the other one. This should avoid a similar problem. I hope.
So all muscles are going "twang", so I'll wait for them to calm down before going back to bed. In the meantime, it's been done before (most notably by Tom Lehrer), but the Modern Major General's Guide to Drugs is definitely worth the 2 minutes it takes.

Date: 2008-06-11 11:36 pm (UTC)As you can imagine, we're going through a bit of the same down here. The advantage is that the move is shorter, the disadvantage is that that means we can fluff around making small runs and not make decent progress.
We move ourselves this weekend. Then it's debris and cleanup. Prior to last night (which we took as a rest night) I was so tired I kept finding myself about to cry. No I just have two busy days of work and then the real move can happen.
