From all around the place:

- Post 3 things you've done in your lifetime that you don't think anybody else on your friends list has done;
- See if anybody else responds with "I've done that." If they have, you need to add another!

Difficult to pick three that hadn't been done by others - driving a tram was out, as was being published in "Mac World"...

1) I have ridden an elephant I have been on a television quiz show. I have knitted a Kaffe Fassett sweater. Not the one in this picture, but one very close to it.

2) I have climbed Mt Snowdon

3) I have traveled on a hovercraft. I have slept in the overhead luggage racks on a train. I've held hands with a television news reader in the dark. (Waiting backstage at Theatresports and having to guide him in the dark to his seat) Curse you [livejournal.com profile] frou_frou!

3a) Have made and used a toilet that had no side or front walls, or roof. It was just dug into the side of the mountain in Queensland, and the view was amazing!

(I'm curious to see what else people have done!)

I've ridden an elephant too! I don't remember exactly what it was, but there was some fair I went to when I was something like three years old that had an elephant for riding. I only went about 50 feet, but it still counts!

Mine was only about 50 feet too, and also when I was about 3. The zoo had this "you get to go around the circle on the back of the elephant on this long bench" ride.

I've been on a hovercraft quite a few times. They used to be quite popular for cross-Channel journeys because they were so fast compared to ferries, but the Chunnel and then the big catamarans cut into the hovercraft routes. I don't actually know if there are any still running.

Hovertravel still run them across the Solent between Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight: I did the journey myself last summer. I'm not sure, but I think that's the only scheduled passenger service in the UK now.

I've done the first version of one. In Sri Lanka. On an elephant belonging to a work crew.
I've looked at Mount Snowdon from a distance and been unimpressed given that I was 12 and at the time I lived at a higher altitude.
I've travelled on a hovercraft. Twice. And I've slept in the overhead luggage racks on a train.

Drat. Thinking time again.

And yes, Snowdon isn't that tall, but it's still a hell of a climb.

I've been to the top of Snowdon, but on the train: I haven't actually climbed it under my own steam, so you're safe there. And though it's too late to mention this now, I've been on a hovercraft too: I went to the Isle of Wight on one almost exactly a year ago. (This one, in fact.)

In 1975 our school excursion climbed the mountain (well, walked the walking track). I've also trained up and walked down, which I think I preferred.

I've slept in the luggage rack of a train... when I was very small, of course. I've also slept in the for'ard sail store of a 30' ocean-going yacht during heavy seas. Believe it or not, it was more comfortable than the bunks.

My 3:

1) I've ridden the Murrumbidgee River rapids on a lilo. With a backpack.

2) I've sung solo in the Concert Hall of the Sydney Opera House.

3) I've gone over Niagara Falls in a barrel Umm... I know!! I've played the Star Wars 'Cantina Theme' as a duet for 2 kazos with band backing on national television. Oh, the shame...

We don't know each other, but I think I love you.

I've ridden elephants and hovercrafts. Neither were full of eels at the time.

It's a remarkably difficult meme, this one - we're an accomplished lot, really, and almost everything I've done has been some by someone on my F-list...

Drat!

Thinking cap on....

Oh - I know, and while plenty of people will have done it, not that many on my friends' list...

I've held hands with a television weather man in the dark - does that count?

It counts for something but I'm going to hang on to my tiny distinction. I'm losing out on so many others!

Okay, in that case I'll have to add that he would read the news occasionally when he needed to stand in. Can I have it now please?

Sorry to do this to you. :)

I have knitted a Kaffe Fassett sweater.

I've knitted at least one possibly more.

A Bear of many hidden talents.

(chuckle) Did you forget you have a Boy Scout on your friends list? :) I have done the first sentence many, many times. It wasn't in Queensland, but it was a pit toilet and a few times it was a lashed together bench over a pit.

Oh, and I've built an outhouse too..only a "single-holer" though, complete with crescent moon in the door. Alas, the person I built it for has since gotten a septic tank for his camp and torn it down. :(

Of course, I'm now beginning to suspect you're listing the things you have listed in order to get people to respond with "I've done that, haha!"

At the moment, I'm up to "Oh No - what can I say!"

It is lovely to see what so many other people have done.

How about:

You and [livejournal.com profile] lederhosen were the talk of the town of Jackman, Maine for over a month after giving a local restaurant owner an Aussie Coffee Mug. :)
