Puppy isn't well...

and was throwing up water yesterday afternoon and last night. By this morning, he was huddling in a pathetic manner on a chair, with a rug over him, and had to be carried to the car. He picked up a little when we got to the vet, but 5 minutes later was back in my lap looking miserable.

He's dehydrated again (not surprisingly) but not as badly as he was last time. But he's back on an IV line, and once he's keeping food down they can try him with the anti-ulcer drugs.

Poor wee doggie.

Can you get him to eat oatmeal or drink down some barley water? Both have mucilaginous properties that can help soothe irritation. I know that helicobacter pylorii (sp?) is the primary cause of ulcers in humans, what about dogs? If that's the case, a long run of antibiotics might help, too.

Poor all of you. Nothing worse than watching a pet who is ill and being unable to do anything, or even explain to them what is going on.
