One of the things I love about Geoffrey is the way we teach each other about our respective music and poetry tastes.

The other night we saw Donnie Darko and at the end is a very sweet, sad and slow version of "Mad World", (originally by Tears for Fears).

So I dragged out my vinyl version of "Songs from the Big Chair". It's hit a chord for Geoffrey, and he played it three times in a row.

Something similar happened when I first introduced him to Gary Numan.
This is no bad thing. After all, I'd never listened to Nine Inch Nails before I met him. Now we can compare and contrast the styles and influences. It's amazing how much in common the two sets of taste have.

Hm! How did this movie (which ranks a #118 on the IMDB top 250, tied at 7.9/10 with over two dozen other movies, including Gone with the Wind, Gladiator, Forest Gump, Battleship Potemkin, and many others) totally go under my radar? Will have to hunt it down. Hm!

It had a pretty limited cinema release, and hasn't even been released over here yet - only way we saw it was on an imported DVD. It slipped under a lot of people's radar.

On a side note, I built the engine to my car while listening to Songs from the Big Chair on vinyl. Mostly because I only had a phonograph player in the garage.

I have no idea why this is relevant.
