Re: Sarah Jane, well remember she was in episodes originally made in the 70's, back then her main purpose was to scream. However she is my favourite of the Dr's companions.

Yeah, I particularly remember "Screaming Sarah-Jane", especially in the "Genesis of the Daleks" episode when she was dropped off the side of that scaffolding...

My favourite was always Leela, but Jo Grant comes a very close second. Especially since I have her autograph on an A4 sized print of her naked with a dalek.

Since she moved to Sydney, autographed copies of that photo must be increasingly common though... I get the feeling she's quite proud of that 'indiscreet' moment.

Now getting one signed by both Katie & her partner would be interesting.

She was theoretically introduced as a more competent "women's lib" character, but this aspect quickly disappeared.

More recently, though, she has had one series of her own spin-off show (with another to follow), which presumably better established her competence.

I will say I loathed the ending of the episode. But then, I hate people being mind-wiped "for their own good".

And that line... Well, lets just say that that's the line that put Captain Jack on my radar. He is now officially hot, according to my libido :P
