She grew up considering her father a monster,
A drug-taking, Goth hippie poet,
It's really not fair for her mother had told her
So how the hell else would she know it?

But with such a heritage, it's only right
That she drifted straight into geek trade,
And worked out the Difference Engine's potential
(Shame that it hadn't been made)

So stand tall and proud, all us female Computers
We fair, fine, fantastic X-nerds
Today's Ada Lovelace Day - let us rejoice
At the legacy we should have heard.
