Heh. I have 30. More than I would have suspected, and that includes at least 4 movies that I saw as a child that I would never have chosen to watch on my own (and didn't like), and the 3 Lord of the Rings movies that I only saw for the first time last month.

I've seen maybe 8 in an actual cinema.

...I know it's the opposite conclusion to the one I'm supposed to reach, but I feel now as though I don't have a life!

I guess the "logic" is hinted at the amount of sequels in the list. The more sequels you've seen, the less of a life you have. Plus there are very few thrillers in the list---it's mostly horror, fantasy, romantic comedy and cult movies. So there's that for the "selection process".

(Was tempted to use the "geek-in-tengwar" icon, but stuck to the movies icon instead. Which... well.)

I think I have almost exactly as much life as you do, although I haven't seen the "first" three Star Wars or the second two Indiana Jones. But I do make up with things like War of the Worlds.

If they had even a few even middle-of-the-road independent/art movies or queer movies, I'd apparently have no life at all.

Only 45 - but since there's hardly any classic movies in there, and almost none on the approximately 300 I have on DVD, I don't think that excuses me from No Life status :)

I got to 64.

The most annoying part is the number of films on that list which have multiple versions - King Kong, The Ring, Miracle on 34th Street, etc. I don't know the best way to count them.

Also, Super Mario Bros. is disappointingly absent from the list (I have recently reacquainted myself with just how bad it is).

That's a very interesting list: almost all are American films, almost all are recent. Almost all are mainstream cinemaplex pap that are aimed at teenagers/young adults.

I consider myself a bit of a film buff and my score is very low. The few films that I have seen on that list, were mostly caught by accident, not intention. Very few of those films I would call "good" films. I hope I haven't offended anyone. Certainly very few have won awards.

My guess is that someone has simply written a list of all the films that they have seen and asked their friends etc to compare.

If you count originals as well (as many of those are also remakes with the same name), then I'm somewhere over the 110 mark.

Of which, about 5 things on your list aren't on mine.
