Part of coping with both of us working full time is making sure the food is ready to go as soon after getting home as one can, especially with me being a wasted bunny most nights.

So yesterday morning I dragged my weary carcass out of bed in time to get to the Queen Vic Markets, then actually did the sensible and made a list of what I'd bought and what meals they'd make, and got all the bits to go with them.

I'd love to do a lot more of "chop chicken - pour sauce - serve on rice", but most of the sauces have onion in them, which really kills the mood for [livejournal.com profile] lederhosen.

And so, including the cookup I did a couple of weeks ago as well:

In the freezer:
8 serves of chicken vegetable pie, requiring oven-heating and serving with vegies.
4 serves chicken creamy vegie soup
6 serves chicken and root vegie and pulses soup
6 serves Chicken Lemon soup (Made by [livejournal.com profile] lederhosen

In the fridge:
1 pork roast ready for Tuesday night, with leftovers making the usual nommy Thai Pork curry for another two nights.
1 large Eye Fillet that would make steak for 4 people (I *will* freeze it in serves)
Chicken Livers to make Paté (Must do tonight)
Assorted cheeses, smoked ham, bacon, etc to cover for something really easy like omelettes.

On the stove right now:
Dinner tonight that [livejournal.com profile] lederhosen is making - fish and wedges and sour cream and tartare sauce.
4 serves Lamb Shanks braising in wine and vegies and tomato and best served on mashed potato

According to my calculations, that's 4 weeks of meals, not including takeaways and odd nights out. I think I can stop now.

*falls over*

Mmm, yum. I'm currently making some minestrone that will hopefully serve for dinner for most of the week, or else lunches and dinners for about half a week. I'm kind of winging it on the recipe, so it'll be interesting to see how it turns out.

Very nice! I've not been nearly so industrious, and am simply happy to have a beetroot ragout and twice-baked souffle pre-made and ready for Wednesday, and tuna casserole for lunch for the next few days...

We need to go partying at Olive Garden sometime. Mmm, Amaretto and Chablis!
