The little things mean so much.
Jan. 5th, 2003 09:13 amYesterday the wonderful
madcowmoo came over to the
pangaean household where we have been staying, and spent the afternoon with us watching DVDs and generally catching up and spending gloriously-orange time together. There are some people in the world who are sweet and positive and whose very presence is lifting - three are Shadow 5-tails, Moo, and
turnberryknkn, and their existence is a blessing. I am now the owner of a Moo-made orange star, which is sitting in my wallet so I see it frequently and am reminded of my blessings.
Saw Two Towers again last night.
Broke my heart in two places when a) Arwen imagines having to wait and see Aragorn die as she doesn't age and b) the young boys were taken off to fight - my boy is the same age as some of those and in that desperate a situation, yes, he would have had to fight.
However, before we went in I was accosted by the sight of a gloriously-stocked icecream booth with many, many different flavours. This would not normally be a problem - I'm a woman and a half in every direction, and proud of it. However,
scascot and I are both determined to lose a sensible amount weight and get fit. In my case, the cutting down of fatty foods and getting out on my bike ought to do it.
And the glory of the icecream booth was that I could still do this! Gelato is yummy, tastes glorious, and has no (or very little) fat, as versus chocolate-mud-cake-ice-cream-with-chocolate-chips-in-it. Yes, it has sugar, but it's the fatty stuff I really have to cut down on.
A large cup of orange, mango and lemon sorbet was purchased and much happiness ensued.
I shall keep in mind at all times Kaz Cooke's instructions on these things: Three meals a day and two snacks, exercise 30 minutes three times a week, and I will be the size I am supposed to be. And a cakie a day keeps the blues away.
Go me.
Alas, now the sad part. After much glorious happiness and fun, meeting wonderful people (hello
lordstorm - had enough drenchings yet?), and doing wonderful things, we have to leave today to get to Sydney. A long long long drive, a break, then more driving. Bummer.
Oh well - nice while it lasted.

Date: 2003-01-05 02:23 pm (UTC)Slang for a cake. Hopefully referring to a cupcake with icing and two Smarties (like M&Ms) to make eyes.
And one with your afternoon tea is not a bad thing. Especially if you fight with your significant other about ownership of the eyes.
