Made for some friends expecting in August. I'm very pleased with this one - the little figures came out just right.
And in the interest of cleaning up the craft stuff, I made a thread holder. Actually, I made two identical ones.
6mm MDF in a 30x30 cm square, with six inch nails hammered in at the appropriate points to make the actual thread holders, and then some discarded MDF triangles to support the bottom, and appropriately mitred pine for the long legs.

Each board holds about 50 threads, which seems like a lot except that I had a couple of packets of "all the different coloured threads you could need" which held 20 each. So I won't be buying thread for a while.
I used a drop of wood glue at the bottom of each nail to cover up the inevitable little rough patch, and then wiped as much oil off the nails as I could with a damp soapy rag.

Four coats of black semi-gloss paint makes the whole thing much more cohesive, covers the nails to prevent rust, and contrasts very nicely with the threads. This is the rack after the first two sprays.

And here it is tucked nicely in the bookshelf in the craft room.
Made by ME! (*smug happy fluffy puffy dance*)
