I don't have a set of scales at my place, so I'm relying on a combination of my mother's set (which are, I'm sure, underweighing) and one of those annoying machines at the town plaza.
The annoying machine today told me I was 95 kgs. It put this upon its large screen so that everyone else knew it, too.
And it's supposed to measure height and tell you what your Body Mass Index is. Alas, as it thought I was 159cm, I have some doubt as to the accuracy of the weight and BMI now. (I'm 175 cm)
Never mind. I've been half-good by walking the dog, going to Laserzone, and by grilling the fish tonight and serving it with salad. The chips were an afterthought.
Yes, sweet friends, I am being sensible about this. If all I do is increase the activity with little change in the food, I should be at what my body knows is "normal" by winter. Walking, dancing, occasional whopping of my son in a darkened arena with laser guns... And if my body thinks "normal" is 90kgs, then so be it.
And if it thinks "normal" is anything under 75kgs, I will stop and rethink things.

Wise woman...

Oh, and I could've told you that you were taller that 159cm - I am over the 160 mark, and we all know how short I am!

Date: 2003-01-15 12:36 am (UTC)Perhaps the motive is what helps. I'm doing it to feel fitter and healthier. I'm not doing it for fashion or to try and attract the right(?) sort of man.
Your sister is beautiful and does not need to change - we are talking Asha, yes? IS it any help to find out why she's doing it? If it's because she can't fit into the majority of clothes in the shops, then she's a normal size already.
(sigh) And if it's any help, I will gladly donate towards an Anton's voucher for her betterment in the taste of clothing.
thought Has anyone there got a copy of Real Gorgeous: The Truth About Body and Beauty by Kaz Cooke? I really ought to have listed it in my 5 books...
