The English actor had one of those deep, slow voices that was made for villains. In Ladyhawke he was the evil Bishop. In War Games he was Stephen Falken, creator of the machine. And in Lady Jane he was Lord Dudley, who changed like the wind to keep in power.

But in Chocolat, he played Guillaume Blerot in a sweet and lovely romantic role, wooing Lesley Caron's aging widow. He was tender and caring, and so lovely.
