easy solution- dont spend **any** money on cheap plastic pink toys (that are probably made in China). =)

The problem is that the pinkification of toys means that "not buying pink" often means "not buying anything", or at least, that the options are fewer and fewer if one wishes to buy something non-sexist.

Not true, there are locals that make toys. Also, why not art supplies? Clay, paints, and markers, crayons, paper, brushes, craft sets, beads. Legos..I love legos and I'm 50!

I remeber I got a candle making set one year.

Plush animals are not always pink...many are made to look like the real animals.

Smurfs are blue. =)

Unfortunately, LEGO has betrayed us; they have now jumped on the pinkification bandwagon.

I'm not saying that there are no alternative options, but toys are becoming more sexist rather than less, and that's a trend that should be fought against.

(love your icon, BTW)

Board games- monopoly, parchisi, uno, mouse trap...etc.

Spirograph =)

If down south, pool toys.

Rag dolls with no pink.

Don't forget books! Puzzles, and fun science projects. Jump ropes and bikes and skates...
Tennis, badmiton sets, darts, "nerf", puppets, masks.

If toys are getting more sexist, then folks need to stop making a market for them. Failed product will not be remade. The solution is really very simple, vote with money.

Pink toys exist because people are buying them and people can't think creatively. I've made a ton of suggestions that would fill santa's sack and not a single one is pink. I have no kids. However, my list does not include brats or barbie or other such "dolls".

I'd like to see women in video games have more clothing and not impossible images and that's worse than pink...because the vid games are consumed mostly by boys.

Oh yes, my favourite gift to give those young enough for plush animals is to go to the Australian Geographic shop and pick out a non-teddybear animal from their selection.

Now, THIS is something I can wholeheartedly get behind. Because I'm sure that pinkification contributes to the dearth of women in Comp. Sci. and I bet it's more effective to attack the sexism earlier rather than later.
