I saw this when I was little, and didn't realise what it was about. And then, in my 20s, suddenly realised "OMG that Pimp!"

And now? I find it terribly heartbreaking, and don't rejoice at the end either.

The conclusion doesn't quite hit the right note. Actually, I find that to be a common affliction of Warner Brothers cartoons -- really good, interesting setup, and disappointing finale.
