*sigh* "Complete" - what it really means.

My little phone-toy lets me read e-books. I looked through the store at the various books of Jack London with the intent to buy a copy of The Assassination Bureau.

That book by itself is $10.

But there are several "Complete Works of Jack London" for prices ranging from $2 to $5. So of course I would much prefer to pay the lesser amount, and enjoy all the stories.

Except ...

None of the "Complete Works" books has "The Assassination Bureau" in it.

*sigh*

This may well be because the book was left half-finished by London, and was completed and released in 1963. I have a strong suspicion most of the "Complete Works" are made up of all the stuff that's available on the public domain anyway. But still...
