Crunching.
Feb. 25th, 2003 02:53 pmThree weeks ago, when you walked across our front lawn, you would have noticed the extreme crunchiness underfoot. The grass, although short, was so very dry that it cracked and crackled as one stepped on it.
For three of the last four days we have had heavy, steady rain. For the last two days, if you walked across our front lawn, you would have noticed the extreme crunchiness underfoot.
But this was the crunching of the snail shells as the gastropods came out in the rain.
I hate snails. I detest them.
I have had double joy in every crunchy step.
