Dear Doctors,

The word is not "discomfort". "Discomfort" is the feeling you get when you sit on your sister's hairbrush, or you ate too much pudding. It's the bright sunlight after three hours in a cinema.

What I felt today as they were jamming the needle into my heel was not discomfort. It was pain. UTTER BLOODY SCREAMING AGONY PAIN YOU F----RS!

And yes, those words you heard being yelled? Was me.

If it's going to hurt?

Just tell me.

(Is better now, still achy, a steroid-and-anaesthetic shot to help the Plantar Fasciitis. But oh god that hurt!)

They stuck a needle into your heel? The same heel that was already in pain? WTF?!
Thank you God, they didn't do that to me when I had plantar fasciitis.

{hugs}

We should get together; been too long.

It's supposed to make it better, as rest and orthotics and exercises haven't helped a lot.

*whimper*

It's very hard to heal plantar fasciits, I know. Because the only way to really rest one's foot is Not To Walk At All. Which is rather difficult to do if one wishes to get anything done.

I know exactly what you mean. I've had a number of the cortisone shots in my left heel over the last few years.

It hurts like hell. And that's AFTER the bloody anaesthetic. They have to get the needle to the right spot and you feel EVERY bloody centimetre.

But the relief you get afterwards is bliss!!!

I've even had them under general as well with manipulation by my orthopaedic surgeon.

Trust me, it will get better in time. The pain doesn't last forever. I've been there and lived to tell you about it.

There is a light at the end of the plantar fasciitis tunnel.
