In other news, slept for 10 hours last night and still feel like crud. Have taught the little sweethearts about volcanoes, Cuton and the DUKS!!!!, the planets of our solar system, the concepts of probability and chance and how it relates to Richmond's chances at the AFL cup, and of course, the letters GL. (Not all on one day, though). Have received hugs, chocolates, slaps, yells, shy confidences and big smiles. And cold germs.

3. What does your username mean/what is the significance behind it?
Blake's 7 was my first fandom. Even though I was aware of and had watched Doctor Who and Star Trek, Blake's 7 was the first thing I was ever fannish about. My favourite character in Blake's 7 is Kerr Avon, the snarky, sarcastic, brilliant, cynical computer genius(*). When I first got onto LJ, I was following a bunch of fan friends from the Blake's 7 mailing list (or I might have devised the handle before LJ, I can't remember). Anyway, I didn't want to just pick "Kerr Avon" as a handle, because it wasn't unique. But my real name happens to have the initials K. A. so I took the end of my surname "-sen" and tacked it on to the "Avon", thus getting "Kerr Avonsen", a combination of my name and his.
I find it somewhat amusing that now that I'm interacting with HP fans, a lot of them seem to think that my username is actually Kerra Vonsen.
(*) I still maintain that he was NOT the reason I got into computing. It was attractive all on its own merits. And it was more fun than Chemistry.
