And now that the Holidays are here and I have 6 weeks until I go back (barring one little maths exam on Wednesday, and having to make up 3 days worth of teaching as well), I have a to-do list.


For the benefit of ME!

Housework
------------------

• Get electric blanket fixed or at least quoted on

• Get new tyres Booked for tomorrow! DONE!!!!/li>
  
• Sort Clothes Done! The couch is now bare


• Iron stuff Well, I did *some*


• Hang Pictures


• Downstairs Over-the-toilet rack to be made


• Sort kitchen


• Put Kitchen telly up


• Sort out craft room. BE RUTHLESS


• Empty packs of loose glasses and assign to cupboards One box turned out to be 50% designer dessert bowls. Alas, one glass lost, but otherwise, DONE!


• Clean Fridge


• Fix BBQ


• Sort out what's needed for pegboard in garage


• Put all the Vinnies stuff into the Vinnies box and send it where needed!!

Sewing/knitting/mending, etc
--------------------------------------------------

• Mend Robbie and pack him up ready to send to Berlin


• Make new pencil case And GOD it looks GOOD!


• Mend tawny pants with new cuff. Note to self - wash fabric tonight


• Mend black coat, rest of trousers, quilt cover


• Do Certain Small Person's Waistcoat


• Make my skirt


• Get all the velociraptor gear together, do the transfers, the bleach-pics, the lot. Then take them to her Done, at least the transfers were.

Cooking and related
-------------------------------------

• Make the marmalade DONE! Or at least the first batch.


• Price the Christmas Cakes Done - no bloody wonder we're broke!


• Fruit Cakes FINALLY DONE although the larger one might be a trifle overdone. Now on the top of the cupboard. Six weeks of soaking in brandy should help.


• Apple Cake


• Shortbread?

Writing

• Work on Lady Winifred


• Work on Oaken Hearts


• Finish SSHG exchange_bingo story about the icy wastes with Lucius and Ginny

22 June 7.0 went to Rosedale and Morwell
14 June 6.0 - Next Gen piece done!
13 June 5.0 - Priced fruit cakes, remembered to add the vinnies box.


Most Importantly

• Hang out with AWESOME people such as kerravonsen and carolinelamb and red_day_dawning and fluidsparkles and splodgenoodles and silverblue and an awful lot of amazingly awesome types, some of whom will actually be there in real-person-style person!

Quite, quite different. In Sassafras, near the Wonderful Puppet Shop, the Lovely Tea shop and the Hippy Drippy Crystal shop. And just up the road from Miss Marple's, which is far better visited on a weekday than a weekend.

(blink, blink) Even back when you could buy Maine-made ones locally (just a decade ago), they were NOT repairable. If it needed to be fixed, how you fixed it was trash it, or use it as a non-electric blanket and buy a new one. It's called safety around these parts.

It was a good one so I'll at least get a quote. If the repair cost is anything over 60% of the cost of a new one, then out it goes. I agree with the safety part - I'll only have a proper repair place look at it.

There are mid-year sales coming up, but dammit it's COLD!

More seriously, there's a pantry needs going through, a workbench that's covered in everything from hammers to out-of-date non-gluten crackers, and the rest of the room's not much better.

And I've just worked out what to do with the Large Appliances that have been precariously balanced on a small table. If I made it higher, there would be room underneath to store them, and then they'd be at a sensible height to use... (By Large Appliances I mean the bread maker, the slow cooker and the food processor)
