But really - WHY THE HELL doesn't a NORMAL mouse work on you? You don't have a generic no-frills USB mouse driver yet?

I plan to avoid Windows 8 for as long as possible, then to cripple it back down to the Windows 7 GUI as best I can.

It's designed for touch screens, and I'm one of those people who throw a fit when people get fingerprints all over my monitor.

I must admit, I'm glad I don't have to use Windows 8. The public libraries in Worcestershire are still plodding along with XP, and I'm desperately hoping they move to 7 soon rather than wait until the last minute and use 8!

New Win 7 machines are vanishing very quickly.

I'm glad I jumped to Linux years ago. Xbuntu is very nice.
